Life can be absurd and unpredictable. Why worry about the little things if they may not go the way you want anyway? This is a philosophy I embrace in my day to day and in my work. As humans we are put here on earth for no apparent reason at all, so why not just give ourselves a meaning? The reason I am here is to create.

Whether it is an experimental piece, or something heavily planned, I make work that I enjoy making and have fun during the process. One of my favorite things about printmaking and ceramics is the overall process of both mediums. Each requires a specific set of steps to follow to come up with a finished product but still leaves some room for experimentation and surprises. Another thing I really enjoy about ceramics is the unpredictability of the Kiln, not every piece will come out how you expect. So as I set out to visual explore the absurd and unpredictable, I embrace those processes that are volatile by nature.

Bright colors, textures, monsters, animals and people will all be seen in my work. All these things are my way of communicating feelings and understanding of the absurdity of life. By embracing unpredictability, it leaves room for bad art. As in life we can look at these moments as mistakes or embrace them fully - work with them to find new moments or let them crush us.
